My Review:
The story is set sixteen years after the 'Shift' has taken place. Every child who was born after the 'Shift' has the ability to see and speak to ghosts. This divides people into Pre-Shifts and Post-Shifts. Aura was born just after the 'Shift' occurred.
With ghosts everywhere, Aura deeply wishes that she was born before the Shift. That is until tragedy strikes on the night of her boyfriend's seventeenth birthday.
Aura's life becomes increasingly complicated when she ends up torn between the living and the dead. She is still in love with her dead boyfriend, Logan but finds herself becoming closer to the Scottish exchange student Zachary, who is very much alive, and provides Aura with comfort and understanding.
As Aura struggles to maintain a relationship with Logan, even though she can't touch him, she begins to realise that she can't move on in life until Logan has moved on in death.
Shade has everything that makes up a good read: Humour, supernatural elements, great characters, oh and a super attractive Scottish guy thrown in for good measure. I totally loved Shade and couldn't put it down, I will definitely be picking up the sequel, Shift.
